Aspects of global governance on illegal pesticides and impacts for sustainability: beginning a discussion

The work addresses the role played by the UN and the OECD in the global governance of illegal pesticides, having as object texts published by these two bodies. The problem has been known since 2007 and the trade in illegal pesticides represents about a third of the total volume traded, and its practice is very similar to drug trafficking. The routes, the producers and the main recipients are known. The OECD and the UN have made efforts to criminalize the trade in illegal pesticides and to ensure that the production and marketing of pesticides is known and traced. However, their actions run into problems of power projection via softpower.
